Neighborhood Watch Alerts
Here is a list of Alerts from the Neighborhood watch to be on the lookout for.
Jugging
On 10/14/2025 Lakewood police announced they had a jugging incident. Jugging is where a robber will target someone who is leaving a bank, ATM, Check Cashing Facility, or other financial institution where money is exchanged. Generally, thieves will either wait for you to complete the transaction and return to your car, or they may follow you to your next stop to target you. To protect yourself, monitor the property for any suspicious vehicles, people, or items. Be observant and look at vehicles that may be parked across the lot or street facing you. Apps like Noonlight can notify authorities for you quickly in an unsafe situation. If you are being targeted, stay calm and call 911, and, if possible, wait inside the bank or other safe location. If you have already completed your transaction, make sure your money is put away out of sight, stay aware, proceed directly to your car or walk away off property quickly, be observant of anyone following or approaching, and if someone is following you, do not go home or work instead go to a public lot while calling 911 on the way and having police meet you there.
Theft
On 10/8/2025 a confirmed theft occurred at Southglenn Commons. The individual, an adult male, was caught on camera stealing items off of front doors and porch areas. The male was possibly accompanied by a female and seen leaving with additional items that are presumably stolen as well. Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the neighborhood watch or local police.
